Austrian steel manufacturer Voestalpine announced that in order to meet current orders, its Donawitz plant has restarted the second blast furnace, which can produce approximately 750,000 tons of pig iron per year.
Voestalpine stated that the total production capacity of the Donawitz plant is approximately 1.5 million tons per year. When its five blast furnaces are in operation, the total production capacity is approximately 5 million tons of pig iron per year.
The performance of the railway system business unit of the Metal Engineering Division has not been affected by the epidemic, but the demand of the automotive, oil, and gas industries was obviously affected, causing the steel wire and seamless tubes business to be hit hard, but now its capacity utilization rate is gradually picking up.
