According to reports, Slovakia’s U.S. Steel Kosice restarted the No. 3 blast furnace to meet customer demand. All three blast furnaces of the company had resumed operation at present.
Jan Baca, the spokesman at U.S. Steel Kosice, expressed that they had many issues related to the European steel market, but the cost of raw materials and energy and the fees charged for carbon emissions remained high.
They could only adjust the output and product range according to the steel market’s current situation and customer needs. Also, they paid close attention to the COVID-19 epidemic.
