According to reports, ArcelorMittal resumed operations of its iron ore sintering plant in Gijón of north-western Spain on January 7.
In the past, due to the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic, the production at ArcelorMittal’s sinter plant A was suspended in April last year.
However, due to the gradual recovery of steel demand, ArcelorMittal stated that it can resume production at the iron ore sinter plant. Although the new bag filter has not been installed yet, the installation is already underway.
Another sintering plant is already operating with a new bag filter. The sinter plant will undergo regular maintenance in the first half of 2021.
