ArcelorMittal Gent, Belgium had planned to restart blast furnace B by the end of this month. The furnace with the capacity of 2.3 million tons annually had been set aside in September last year for relining and was planned to be restarted by mid-Feb.
Due to extreme weather conditions’ wide impact in northern Europe, the restart of steel mills’ production had been rescheduled, which has caused a strong impact on suppliers such as Thyssenkrupp who had no option but to inform its customers about the delayed production.
